Who you are.

You are a visionary and natural leader. A champion of users and voice of the customer. You are comfortable with executive stakeholder communication. You find excitement talking to users and enjoy deciphering between what people say they want versus what they actually mean. And in doing so you are empathetic, resourceful, and constantly think outside of the box.

You are a player-coach and find happiness scaling a Product team, but also enjoy getting into the details when needed to lead your team to success. You can create and execute a powerful strategic vision, while also ideating in front of a whiteboard. You can effectively assess multiple priorities to determine quick wins and strategic initiatives. You are committed to setting and achieving audacious goals and leading cross-functional team members along for the journey.

What you'll do.

Over the past twelve months, the Kamana team has grown exponentially to help more than 110,000 healthcare professionals and hundreds of healthcare employers more effectively navigate the world of healthcare staffing.

As the VP of Product and primary leader of the Product team, you will work directly with our co-founder/President and will be a part of the executive team leading the way in delivering a world-class leading healthcare staffing platform.

You will be at the forefront of innovation and achieving business objectives. You will be managing high expectations and communicating effectively to achieve alignment as you evaluate many competing priorities. To accomplish this, you will do things like:

  • Establish, communicate, execute a powerful product vision and scaling milestones in strategic alignment with business objectives and revenue goals
  • Define and execute a clear product strategy over the near, mid, and long term future, continuing to position Kamana as the leader in healthcare staffing and credentialing
  • Lead, hire, and manage a passionate Product Management team by providing clear direction, removing obstacles, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and providing strong management and leadership
  • Establish a product roadmap while balancing the needs and priorities of internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner closely with Engineering to establish systems and processes ensuring predictable development, timely delivery, and team accountability
  • Drive data-centric product culture by defining clear KPIs for your team, tracking them, and measuring success

Experimentation is frequent at Kamana. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.

What you've done before.

You have proven experience as a product leader in a successful fast-moving company building SaaS platforms where the company has grown rapidly and successfully as a result of your contribution. Along the way, you have:

  • developed strong stakeholder management skills, with experience as a member of a senior Executive Management team as well as interacting with C-level customers
  • been hands on with recruiting, managing, structuring, and up-skilling Product teams
  • led a Product Management team to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business goals, drive detailed trade-offs over the product life-cycle, manage conflict, and articulated the rationale behind product decisions
  • become comfortable overseeing multiple product lines and conceptualizing new product features while weighing the customer, business, and engineering needs

It'd be cool if you've done this.

Experience in healthcare SaaS and/or the HealthTech industry will get you to the top of the list. Having been on the ground floor of a fast-growing startup, with a desire to repeat this journey, may also set you apart from other candidates, but is not required as long as you are up for the challenge! A clinical background and/or knowledge of the healthcare staffing industry would be amazing, but is in no way required.

Salary, benefits, & how we work.

This is a full time exempt position with an expected salary of $150,000 - 175,000+/year.
